Tournament Details

MainGaming will be hosting 4 qualifier Tekken Tag Tournament 2 events across South Africa, Each qualifier event will see the top 3 placed players qualify for the Grand Finals, Gauteng, Cape Town and Tshwane will play host to these qualifiers, The winner of the Grand Final will be crowned South Africa's best Tekken Tag Tournament 2 player and will also walk away with R5000.00 in cash!!

1st place - R5000.00 in Cash 2nd place - Top three placed players will receive a Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Pack that contains a whole lot of goodies Cape Town Winner - The winner of the Cape Town qualifier will receive airfare paid to attend the Grand Finals

In Game Rules

1. The tournament will be held on the final release version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on PS3
2. Players must complete registration online/at the registration desk on the day of the tournament, Players will also need to “like” the MainGaming Facebook page to ensure registration.
3. Tournament is bracket-style Double elimination format.
4. Players will be paired off randomly. A random draw will be carried out before the tournament starts..
5. The winner of each game will move to the next round; the loser will drop into the losers bracket
6. Play will continue until the last two contestants remaining compete. The contestant who wins the final match wins the tournament.
7. MainGaming tournament staff has the final ruling regarding any mediation of the tournament.

Game Play Rules
1. Players must use the controllers that are provided by MainGaming or controllers brought by players, All players must switch off their controller after their match.
2. No memory cards or third party memory devices can be used by contestants.
3. No “special codes” will be allowed to be programmed
4. Player position (player 1 or player 2) is determined by a coin flip (or other method) prior to the game set-up.
5. All tournaments will be set to 3 rounds, i.e. best of 3 (set to 80secs).
6. Players play on the same screen
7. Contestants have one minute to change their button configuration.
8. Contestants must select their own characters, All other settings are default(no unlockable characters/ no random selection)
9. Winners of each match must select the SAME characters they won with previously.
10. Both contestants may select the same character when competing in the matches.
11. Any technique possible within the game is allowed during the match.
12. The tournament will be 1v1 first to 3
13. In the event of an outage of power, accidental unplugging, system freeze or some other event not in either player's control that would not allow the participants to finish the game, the game will be restarted. • All tournaments will be set to 3 rounds, i.e. best of 3 (set to 80secs).
• All other settings are default
• The use of pre-order only characters will not be available
• No changes to handicap settings allowed – life will be set to 100%
• Random stage select setting
• Tag, solo and 1vs2 modes are allowed
• When player’s names/numbers are called out, they have 1 minute to get to their position and play their match. If they do not get there in time, then they forfeit the match.
• Once in position, it is down to the players to make sure that their button configuration is correct.
• If a match has been officially started, then a player learns that his/her configuration is incorrect, they must A) continue playing through the entire match with the wrong configuration, or B) Forfeit a round so they can fix this issue.
• When selecting characters, players have a set time limit to do so. This is at the judge’s discretion. After this time you have to pick a character. If you do not, then you forfeit the match.
• A player may only change characters if they lose a match.
• We will be supplying controllers (pad), the usage of arcade sticks and configuration of buttons are at the discretion of the judge.
• Players are responsible for all the property they bring to the event. If anything breaks or gets lost, it is not the store or any affiliated company’s responsibility.
• If a controller breaks during an actual match, then they must tell the judge immediately. The judge will check the controller for faults. If a fault is detected by the judge, then he/she can restart the match again with a working controller.
MainGaming employees have the final ruling regarding any mediation of the tournament.
